At Tap, your privacy isn't an afterthought — it's core to how the app works. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Tap, we may collect:

• Account information — your name, email address, and profile photo when you sign up.
• Profile content — your bio, interests, and any other details you choose to share.
• Location data — approximate proximity to other users while the app is active, used solely to power the Discover feature. We do not store precise GPS coordinates.
• Usage data — how you interact with the app (e.g., taps sent, features used) to improve the experience.
• Messages — chat messages between mutually matched users. Messages are encrypted in transit.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To show you nearby users and enable the tap/match system.
• To power chat between matched users.
• To improve app features, fix bugs, and prevent abuse.
• To send you important account notifications (not marketing spam).

3. What We Never Do

• We never sell your personal data to third parties.
• We never show ads targeted using your personal information.
• We never share your location with other users beyond approximate distance.
• We never reveal a one-sided tap — only mutual matches are disclosed.

4. Ghost Mode & Visibility

When you enable Ghost Mode, you are immediately removed from all Discover feeds. No other user can see you until you disable it. Your data remains on our servers but is not surfaced to anyone.

5. Data Retention

You can delete your account at any time from the app settings. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your profile, matches, and messages within 30 days.

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for all data in transit and encrypt sensitive data at rest. We conduct regular security reviews and limit employee access to user data.

7. Children's Privacy

Tap is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use of Tap after changes means you accept the updated policy.
